Beginner 1

Beginner 1 is an introductory course to swimming that assists with water acclimation, and water safety, and lays the foundation for stroke, learn to swim lessons.

Beginner 2

Beginner 2 builds upon the stroke foundation laid in beginner 1, builds endurance through increasing distance, and teaches treading basics.

Intermediate

Youth intermediate swimming instruction is tailored to the needs of each student. Each student skill is assessed and students are grouped with like-skilled students. Our certified and professional staff make lessons fun and specialize in turning fearful swimmers into confident swimmers through this intermediate course to swimming that assists with learning and mastering strokes and building endurance.

Beginner

It's never too late to learn to swim! Our certified and experienced instructors are patient and allow each student to learn at their own pace. This is an introductory course to swimming that assists with water acclimation, and water safety, and lays the foundation for stroke, learn to swim lessons.

Intermediate

It's never too late to learn to swim! Our certified and experienced instructors are patient and allow each student to learn at their own pace. Adult intermediate swimming instruction is tailored to the needs of each Adult. The Adult's skill is assessed and then grouped with like-skilled adults. Our certified and professional staff make lessons fun and specialize in turning fearful swimmers into confident swimmers through this intermediate course to swimming that assists with learning and mastering strokes and building endurance.

Baby's first swim lesson

This highly engaging class allows your child to get comfortable in the water, while parents learn water safety skills to help reduce the risk of infant drowning. A parent or guardian must be in the water with the child. Our parent and tot class starts at the age of 4 months and they will age out at 2 years old.

Toddler 1

Toddler 1 is an introduction to water comfort and independence, focusing on acclimation, learning to wait their turn, safe entry and exits. All students, ages 2 - 4 years of age, who are new to our program or have aged out of parent and tot must take this class. In this class, students transition from dependence on the guardian to independent comfort in the water. They learn safety skills such as waiting for permission to enter the water, climbing in and out of the pool, holding their breath, and survival skills like rolling onto their back to float, rest, and breathe. This class is a Prerequisite for Toddler II. The ratio is 1 instructor to 3 students.

Toddler 2

Toddler 2 is an intermediate toddler class for toddlers 3 - 4 years of age, who have completed Toddler I. Students MUST have taken Toddler I to take this class. This class focuses on building the foundation for strokes that they will expand on in the youth beginner class. It focuses on swimming with legs and arms on the front and back, jumping in and making it to the wall, and rolling from front to back, all independently. Students in this level will age out when they turn 5 and into Beginner I or will graduate upon mastery and go into Beginner II. The ratio is 1 instructor to 5 students.

Come and swim laps at the Swem School! Select 60-minute swim packages that give you the flexibility to enjoy the freedom of swimming.
Lanes must be reserved and there is a maximum of two swimmers per lane.
Swims must be used within 30 days of purchase.

Water fitness is one of the best cardiovascular workouts! This instructor-led, 60-minute class will incorporate cardio and strength using various water resistance techniques and water dumbbells. Low-medium impact class is performed in shallow water and is designed to improve joint stability, coordination, heart health, and strength. Babysitter/Child Care Training

Course Description: American Red Cross training equips participants with the proper techniques for caring for infants and children. This babysitting training course helps the attendees become more capable and confident babysitters.

This course is instructor-led and interactive with the students with hands-on demonstrations and skills practice using infant CPR manikin dolls.

What are the course objectives?

‍

Identify role modeling, respect, communication, motivation, taking action and decision making. Emphasizing important leadership skills needed as a babysitter.

Discuss the business of babysitting – how to interact and communicate with the parents/legal guardians of the children, discuss money, hours, etc.

Apply the FIND decision making model to common babysitting situations - Figure out the Problem, Identify Possible Solutions, Name Pro's and Cons, Decide best solution and act

What should I expect in this class?

Bring a snack or lunch
There will be videos and lectures on CPR/ FA/ AED
You will be practicing skills on mannequins and fellow participants (Covid - 19 and other safety precautions are in place to ensure a safe environment)
You will be required to take a written exam and pass with an 80 % or above
You will be required to pass a skill test

How long does this certification last?

2 years

What happens if I do not pass the course?

You will be invited to participate in the training course offered next month.

Will I be performing mouth to mouth?

No you will not. You will be provided a breathing barrier to protect you from your victims' germs.

Lifeguard Preparatory Academy - (No Certification)

Course Description: This program prepares competent swimmers for the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification prerequisite test. The requirements to become a lifeguard are challenging and strenuous. This preparatory course trains students to pass the prerequisite test so that they may be eligible for the lifeguard training course.

Will I be certified at the end of the course?

‍

No. The American Red Cross requires all lifeguard participants to pass a prerequisite test before they can train to be lifeguard certified. This program prepares students to successfully complete the prerequisite course.

‍

What if I think I can pass the prerequisite test without taking this course?

‍

Wonderful. Feel free to register for the Lifeguard Certification course offered at the end of every month. Be advised that registering for the Lifeguard Certification course acknowledges your ability to pass the prerequisite course. If you do not pass the prerequisite course, you will not receive a refund for the certification course.

What are the prerequisite test requirements?

Brick test ( start in the shallow end, swim to the deep end, dive to the bottom of the pool and retrieve a 10lb weight, swim the weight back to the shallow end without using your hands, place the weight on the wall and hop out of the pool in under 1 min 40 sec.

Lifeguard Certification

This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course.

Dates: Last weekend of every month - Saturday and Sunday

Times: 9am - 4pm

Cost: $300

Course Requirements:

Must be at least 15 years old ( or turning 15 by the last date of the class)

What should I expect in this class?

‍

This course is broken up into three different parts.

Online training module: Participants are required to complete an online training program that consists of videos, interactive exercises, and test questions
CPR/ First Aid/ AED training : Students are required to pass a written exam with an 80% or above and pass a skills test.
Water safety and rescue training: Students are required to pass a written exam with an 80% or above and pass a water rescue skills test.

What happens if I don’t pass the prerequisite test?

‍

Unfortunately you will be asked to leave the course and encouraged to participate in our lifeguard preparatory program.

‍

What happens if I do not pass the certification course?

‍

You will be invited to our Lifeguard Preparatory Academy or to participate in our certification program the following month. You would have a significant advantage over the rest of the class.

How long does the certification last?

‍

The Lifeguard and CPR/ FA/ CPR certification last 2 years

‍

What jobs can I work with this certification?

‍

You can work any job that requires an active CPR/ FA/ AED certification or Lifeguard certification. Babysitting jobs, gym staff, camp counselor, swim instructor, ect.
